A Star Is Born Is Returning To Theaters With Extra Songs

On Sunday evening, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper lit the stage on fire with their sizzling rendition of “Shallow”, the winner of Best Original Song from their film A Star Is Born. Capitalizing on that victory and buzz, the film will be returning to theaters for one week starting March 1st. Adding to its return, the special “encore” of the film will have some added bonuses.

12 minutes of previously cut footage has been added to the film, which includes extended takes of songs and one brand new song that was not featured in the film or soundtrack. This time around, the film will open with the complete performance of “Black Eyes” with Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine. Also from Cooper will be the complete performance of “Alibi,” which originally only featured a portion as Lady Gaga’s Ally was arriving at the concert, and an in-studio performance of “Too Far Gone.”

As for Gaga, the film will feature an a cappella version of “Shallows” and a performance of “Is That Alright” during the wedding. Rounding out the new footage is “Clover,” a completely new song to the original cut of the film. The scene itself was featured in the film’s trailers and is the poster to the film. In a sun-drentched shot, Jackson and Ally are writing the song together as the concert stage towers over them in the background. It is a beautiful shot that will finally be a part of the story.

While it is the fourth film in the line of A Star Is Born iterations, Cooper’s story and vision partnered with an amazing chemistry between he and Gaga presented an updated, fresh take on a classic tale. Partnered with strong supporting talent from Sam Elliott, Dave Chappelle, Andrew Dice Clay and Rafi Gavron, A Star Is Born is a compelling, heart-wrenching love story that has been given the added bonus of more musical magic between its stars.
