Action Packed Teaser Trailer Drops For Marvel Studios’ Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2010 film Iron Man 2 as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. From there she went on to become one of the original six Avengers in the 2012 film, The Avengers. But as we all know during the climax of 10 years worth of storytelling in Avengers: Endgame earlier this year, Black Widow sacrificed herself in order to allow Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner, to obtain the Soul Stone so that the Avengers can bring back all the people that Thanos snapped out of existence. Was this the end of Black Widow in the MCU?

Well maybe for films that take place in “present” time in the MCU, but what about exploring her past life as a spy before becoming an Avenger? Enter 2020’s feature film and the first film in Phase Four of the MCU, Black Widow, directed by Cate Shortland that is based off a script by Jac Schaeffer and produced by Kevin Feige. Today via Marvel Entertainment we have received the first teaser trailer and poster for the film! Check out the trailer above and the poster below!

This is definitely a film that I did not know I needed to see in the MCU. The action packed trailer for the spy thriller Black Widow showcases an array of characters that will be joining Black Widow in the film. Most prominently we see Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and also David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian, Rachel Weisz as Melina and a younger looking Willam Hurt as Thaddeus Ross. Not only that but we also get a look at the villain Taskmaster who’s costume looks great in my opinion.

Overall it was a very exciting trailer and I like that even though it’s in the MCU it feels more like a spy film than what we are used to seeing with some of the other characters like Iron Man or Captain America. What do you think of our first look at next year’s Black Widow film? Thoughts on her white outfit? Let us know in the comment section below!
