Erotic thrillers seem to be the bread and butter for director Adrian Lyne, who as helmed films like Indecent Proposal, Fatal Attraction and 9 1/2 Weeks. The last time we saw him in the directors chair was 2002’s Unfaithful, but that is all about to change with a new film that will fall under New Regency’s output deal with Fox/Disney.

The film is an erotic thriller titled, Deep Water and Deadline is reporting that Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas are both in negotiations to star in it. It’s based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith, who also wrote The Talented Mr. Ripley, that has been adapted by Zack Helm and Sam Levinson. It is being produced by Steve Zaillain and Garrett Basch with Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner and Anthony Katagas. The plan is for the film to start production in November, if everything goes to plan.

This film follows an attractive you married couple Vic and Melinda Van Allen, who would be played by Affleck and Armas that avert divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each other to take on lovers. But as you might expect things get out of hand when while playing mind games with with each other takes a twisted turn when people around them start turning up dead.

This isn’t Affleck’s first rodeo in a film like this as he also starred in Gone Girl a few years back. Along with this film he is also planning on teaming up with Matt Damon in the Ridley Scott directed film The Last Duel, which is also at Fox/Disney. Armas, the Cuban born actress is quite the rising star as she is about to start shooting the Andrew Dominik directed Netflix film, Blonde. In this film she plays the iconic actress Marilyn Monroe. Affleck is repped by WME and de Armas by CAA.
