AfterShock Comics wins Diamond Distributor Publisher of the Year Award

In a lot of ways, AfterShock Comics is the new kid on the block. They only started publishing comics in 2015 and aren’t a household name like Marvel or DC. That hasn’t stopped them from attracting some big names in the comic industry to produce content under the AfterShock banner. Creators such as Amanda Conner & Jimmy Palmiotti, who are well-known for their recently-completed run on Harley Quinn, Paul Jenkins, who wrote the definitive Wolverine Origin tale, Garth Ennis, whose Preacher series is now an AMC TV Series, Warren Ellis, whose Iron Man run was adapted for Marvel’s Iron Man 3 movie, Brian Azzarello, a six-time Eisner Award winner and  Mark Waid, New York Times Bestselling Author of KINGDOM COME, are some of the biggest names creating comics under the AfterShock banner. They are joined by a host of other talented creators, both new and veteran, who are prompting the comic’s industry to take notice.

The quality of their titles clearly caught the eye of retailers as well. AfterShock has been named Publisher of the Year in the under 3% category by Diamond Comic Distributors. The Gem Award which Diamond gives out annually are voted on by retailers in the direct comic book market.

I highly encourage you to take a trip over to the AfterShock website and take a look at some of the titles they have produced thus far. Their catalog is diverse and there are titles for all taste and ages. Some favorites of mine are the SciFi title REPLICA by Paul Jenkins & Andy Clarke and BLACK-EYED KIDS by Joe Pruett & Szymon Kudranski.
