Alan Tudyk To Voice The Joker In DC Universe’s Harley Quinn Animated Series

One of the upcoming shows for the DC Universe’s streaming app is the Harley Quinn animated series. During this year’s New York Comic Con we got a little teaser with Harley Quinn, voiced by Kaley Cuoco and Poison Ivy, voiced by Lake Bell. Batman also showed up briefly in the teaser being voiced by Diedrich Bader, who also voiced the Dark Knight in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Today Bader was a guest on Discussing Film’s The Mutual Interviews, where he talked a little about his past but a lot about his role as Batman in Batman: The Brave and the Bold and a few things to expect from Harley Quinn. First talking about casting, Bader reveals that Alan Tudyk from Firefly, Rouge One and Con Man will be the voice of the Joker.

Also as far as the series itself Bader describes it as “adult-swimesque” and that “it has a lot of dirty language” even as going as far as that it is a show that at this time he would not watch with his kids and that it “will be bringing a adult sense of humor to what would normally be considered a kids media”.

The voice cast for Harley Quinn will also include Rahul Kohli, Ron Funches, JB Smoove, Jason Alexander, Wanda Sykes, Giancarlo Esposito, Natalie Morales, Jim Rash, Tony Hale and Chris Meloni.

Here is the synopsis for the series:
Harley Quinn, based on the DC characters, focuses on Harley Quinn who has finally broken things off once and for all with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal Queenpin of Gotham City. The series features Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and a whole cast of heroes and villains, old and new, from the DC Universe.

Do think that Tudyk is a good choice to voice the Joker? Let us know in the comment section below!

DC Universe’s Harley Quinn will premiere on their streaming service sometime in 2019.
