Alien: Blackout Mobile Game Announced As A Sequel To Alien: Isolation

It was not that long ago we wrote about something coming soon within the Alien Franchise, though we were not exactly sure what that would be? One of the possible clues was the name Alien: Blackout being registered as something video game related. Now we know that Alien: Blackout is a real sequel to Alien: Isolation and will once again star Amanda Ripley, daughter of movies lead Ellen Ripley. However, instead of a full console game like Isolation was, this is going to be a premium Mobile game.

Thanks to Variety we know Alien: Blackout is a mobile game in development from FoxNext Games, D3 Go!, and Rival Games that puts players in the boots of Amanda Ripley aboard a Xenomorph-infested Weyland-Yutani space station. The game will see you guiding survivors through the broken down space station, where any wrong move could put you and your team of survivors in peril. Here is the official synopsis of the game.

“Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.”

The game will be available from the usual app stores depending on your platforms of choice, but as yet we do not have a release date.

Not only do we have the game now continuing the adventures of Amanda Ripley, but we know there is a new comic book series coming with Amanda Ripley in the lead role as well.

Whilst fans of Alien: Isolation will no doubt be disappointing they won’t get a full console released sequel, the simple fact remains that despite the praise that game received, it didn’t sell well and making a mobile game is going to have a far smaller development budget.
