Altered Carbon Season 2 Is In Production

That’s right everybody, your favorite Meths, Stacks, and Sleeves are coming back, and there’ll be some new faces joining the show too. We have a cool new announcement video that has an unseen person going through the inventory of Sleeves and Stacks and that reveals some of the new actors and actresses coming to the show for Season 2. These include Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Winter Soldier),  Simone Missick (Marvel’s Luke Cage), Dina Shihabi (Jack Ryan), Torben Leibrecht (Beyond the Sea), and James Saito (Marvel’s Iron Fist). I know what you’re thinking and yes that is a lot of Marvel actors, but good for them!

Altered Carbon is set over 350 years in the future when people are able to download their consciousness onto a disc (Stack) which can then be placed into another body (Sleeve) making humans essentially immortal. Of course only the rich can afford to clone themselves and afford cloud storage of their Stacks. Season 1 focused on a former Envoy rebel, Takeshi Kovas (Joel Kinnaman, Will Yun Lee, Byron Mann), who was hired by Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy) to help solve a mystery surrounding his own murder.

Alison Schapker is joining the series as a co-showrunner. She has written, produced, and helped run shows like AliasLostFringe, and The CW’s The Flash. She will fit in well given the show blends the science fiction, action, drama, and mystery genres. There is no release date for Season 2.
