AMC Theaters To Stay Open 72 Hours Straight In Some Locations For Avengers: Endgame

This week is finally the release of the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame film that has been so many years in the making. It looks like fans are definitely ready as earlier reports were estimating that advanced ticket sales are estimated to range between $120 million and $140 million. A challenge some theaters are preparing for is the 3 hour run time, which cuts down on how many showings you can have, but some chains are making adjustments.

Via press release AMC has announced that 29 of their theaters will be open around the clock Thursday through Friday. 18 of their theaters will be open around the clock Thursday through Saturday or Friday though Sunday. Also another 17 of their theaters will be open of for the entire 3 days of Avengers: Endgames’ opening weekend.

Here is the official press release:
“AMC guests have already purchased more tickets to AVENGERS: ENDGAME than we’ve ever sold in advance of a film’s release – and our first shows aren’t until Thursday evening,” said Elizabeth Frank, EVP Worldwide Programming for AMC. “With a desire to satisfy as many Marvel fans as possible on Thursday and through the weekend, AMC’s programming team is reviewing ticket sales theatre by theatre and adding showtimes later and later. In fact, there are multiple AMC locations that will be operating around the clock from Thursday night through Sunday.”

It looks like AMC theaters will be doing it’s best to try and capitalize on what can arguably be described as the most anticipated Marvel Studios’ film to date. There is talk that Avengers: Endgame could reach up to $300 million domestically.
