Andrew Lincoln On Why He’s Leaving The Walking Dead

Fans seem to have a love-hate relationship with The Walking Dead. I honestly haven’t come across a fan who genuinely still love watching the show. As it stands, everyone I’ve come across seems to just be too invested in it to drop it now, complaints be damned, and the upcoming departure of actor Andrew Lincoln seems to be yet another big sticking point.

But what is the reason behind Lincoln’s departure? Given the cynicism many have towards the show, it’d be easy to poke and prod at some of the series’ shortcomings. Perhaps Lincoln thought jumping off the sinking ship was better done sooner rather than later, right? Nah, not really. Speaking with EW, Lincoln shared a less diabolical reason for him leaving the long-running zombie series:

“I have two young children, and I live in a different country, and they become less portable as they get older. It was that simple. It was time for me to come home.”

Well, when you put it like that, you can hardly blame the guy. Just imagine, this is a guy who virtually put his entire family’s life on hold for nine years as he spearheaded one of the biggest shows on television. I’m sure it’s a decision he didn’t regret, but the sacrifices everyone made is all too real.

What do you think of Lincoln’s decision? Let us know down below!
