Aquaman Passes Deadpool 2 Domestically

Warner Bros. Pictures’ Aquaman directed by James Wan, starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman continues to surpass expectations during it’s unexpected box office run. This week it has passed another Marvel film here in the states.

Aquaman has recently passed Deadpool 2 domestically with $324.9 million. This new total puts it right behind another DC film Suicide Squad which sits at $325.1 million domestically. Although the film does have the highest overall gross total for any DC film overall it is far behind the domestic total of 2008’s Dark Knight which made $535.4 at the box office.

We recently got the announcement about it’s home video release, so it’s highly unlikely it will stay in theaters for much longer. But if it could somehow make another $10 million it could jump to the 54th spot on the all time box office list passing up other comic book films like Suicide Squad, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Currently it sits at number 61 overall.

Aquaman will be released digitally on March 5th and then on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K HUD on March 26th. The home video edition will come with many extra features including Becoming Aquaman, Heroines of Atlantis and Kingdom of the Seven Seas as well as a three minute sneak peek at their next upcoming film SHAZAM!
