Oh, Frank, Frank, Frank. It looks like we may have been trolled, folks. Last week, while on the podcast UFC Unfiltered, Captain America: The Winter Soldier actor Frank Grillo made some interesting statements regarding his character Crossbones, who met an untimely and violent end at the beginning of Captain America: Civil War. He mentioned that the character would be returning in Avengers 4 in a flashback.

Of course, we were quick to jump on this, since he’s a cool character and like many fans, we’d love to see more of him. But it looks like Grillo was none too happy with reports like ours, as he soon after took to Instagram to bat down any comments on this. Here’s what he had to say about these reports to his followers.

“#fakenews. In the course of a day i get asked 1000 questions about a character i played for 8 minutes. I’ve confirmed nothing. But sometimes i have fun w people who ask. #moveon”

So what does this mean? Does that mean the man was just trolling us to see what we’d say? Actor Michael Shannon did the same prior to the release of Batman v Superman when he pushed a false story about having flippers for hands, so it’s not completely out of the question. But it is worth mentioning that after he made those initial comments about returning in a flashback, he said:

“And I’m allowed to say whatever I want because I’m never doing another Marvel movie.”

So this could be interpreted in two ways. One, that he really did spill the beans and didn’t care, or two, that he really was just saying whatever the hell he wanted because he has nothing to lose or gain, and he’s just messing with us. One thing is for sure though. We will NEVER move on. We live for this stuff.
