Avengers: Endgame – Wong Confirmed To Appear In The Movie

Fan have speculated that Wong may have survived Thanos decimation in Avengers: Infinity War. There are even a few memes that have popped up using the footage from Avengers: Endgame trailer to show Wong suddenly appearing and rescuing Tony Stark (and we assume Nebula) from the drifting spaceship. Our own Nick Doll predicts that in fact, it will be Pepper Potts in the Rescue armor who shows up to free her betrothed from space.

The thing is until now we had no real clue that Wong had indeed survived the snap and would also appear in Avengers: Endgame. So when actor Benedict Wong, (who plays Wong confusingly) casually confirmed it in a recent interview with Collider, we thought it was worth reporting on specifically. Wong was talking with the outlet about his new TV show for Syfy, Deadly Class, which the Russo Brothers are also involved with. The Russo Brothers as I am sure you are aware, are the directors of both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Wong was asked if he had to travel between the productions for Deadly Class and Avengers: Endgame, here is what he said.

“Yeah there was a time when I was doing Avengers 4. Normally it would be a logistical nightmare with the hair and negotiating that, but it’s great. I’m grateful to be on a double Russo Brothers production. It was streamlined.”

Wong went on to add that the Russo’s had an expensive silicon wig made for Avengers: Endgame (the bald look), because that was easier than providing a hair wig instead for Deadly Class. Deadly Class is a show based on the comics of the same name by Rick Remender who is also heavily involved with the show.

There was a strong possibility that Wong might have not got any screen time in Endgame even if he survived as he’d be busy protecting the Sanctum against any threats, whilst the movie would focus on the original Avengers cast. So it is good to know the popular sorcerer will be back in the biggest movie of the year.

What do you think of Wong, are you happy he gets to show up even if briefly in Avengers: Endgame? Share any thoughts you have in the usual place below.
