If you thought Captain America: Civil War was a ridiculously crowded film, then we’re not sure you’re prepared for what next year’s Avengers: Infinity War has instore for you. Yes, Civil War had more than twelve supers going head to head, but Infinity War has more than twenty already confirmed — and apparently they’re not done counting yet. Everyday, it seems like we’re getting yet another confirmation for the film, and today Sunday was no different.

Thanks to an Instagram update from actress Pom Klementieff, who will be portraying the character Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we now know that Mantis will at least be making an appearance in the increasingly-crowded Avengers: Infinity War.

Have a look at the photo below!

We don’t yet know Mantis’ overall importance in the upcoming Guardians film, but we have seen her in a scene with Star-Lord, Gamora, and Drax at the end of the more recent trailer, and we’ve also seen the character in a pretty badass piece of concept art that was released last year (shown at the top of the article). She may not be on the level of, say, a Yondu or Nebula, but she seems to have quite the important connection to the overall plot going forward.

If you’ll recall, the official synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is as follows:

“Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.”

Needless to say, we’ll be interested to see where things are left at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as it will be the last time we see any of those heroes before worlds collide in Avengers: Infinity War.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017 and Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018!
