Avengers: Infinity War – Did You Catch That Callback To Civil War?

Things didn’t end super happily in Captain America: Civil War. Sure, all of our heroes lived at the end of the terrible divorce, but the parents and kids were still left separated. Tony was bitter against Cap and Bucky for the death of his parents, and there seemed little reason to expect that they would be sorting out these emotional issues any time soon.

But of course, as one would expect, by the end of the runtime, Cap had already extended an olive branch of sorts to Tony, mailing him an envelope with an old-school flip phone where Tony can reach him.

Earlier today, in the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, an eagle-eyed fan saw that very phone reappear miraculously in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot, which is captured below in a tweet from user Marvel__News.

So what does this mean for the story? Well, it’s possible that when Thano invades Earth, the remnants of the Avengers (led by Tony) are brought in to help take care of the problem. However, when the threat proves to be too great, Tony concedes and decides to bring in Cap himself, along with all his allies, to help take down Thanos.

Of course, that’s pure speculation on how it’ll all turn out, but regardless, it’s nice to see that the phone will be used in some way or another.

What do you expect from the phone? Let us know your thoughts down below!
