Avengers: Infinity War Fandango Pre-Sales Outpacing Last Seven Marvel Films — COMBINED!

I don’t think it’s incredibly surprising that Avengers: Infinity War is making all sorts of pre-sales bank. Given how it’s the film that the last dozen or so have been building up to, you know that audiences will be coming out in droves…but I’m not sure anyone could have predicted just how much it’s made in pre-sales tickets so far.

According to a new report from Variety, Fandango has already sold more than double the amount of Avengers: Infinity War tickets as they did Black Panther at this point in the game — and this is a film that’s just broken $1.3 billion so far. But that ain’t all. Avengers: Infinity War is also outpacing all of the last seven Marvel movies combined. This includes Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Doctor Strange, Captain America: Civil War, and Ant-Man.

Infinity War has built up such unprecedented anticipation that it’s pacing to break records, the likes of which we have never seen before for a superhero movie,” Fandango managing editor Erik Davis said. “Moviegoers are rushing to guarantee their seats in advance for what is sure to be one of the most talked-about movies of the decade.”

Ironically enough, the film is still only tracking for a $175 million to $200 million debut, and while that’s not bad, you would assume that, based on these figures, that it would be shooting for $250 million or above. But, of course, this is by no means a bad start, and if the film is good, then I can only imagine that it’ll have quite the run at the box office.
