Avengers: Infinity War – Someone Set Thor’s Avenger-Saving Entrance To ‘The Immigrant Song’

Avengers: Infinity War was an all-around surprising film. Sure, Marvel Studios had surprised us in the past with their other team-up movies, but the sheer number of heroes they were juggling this time around was mind-boggling. Yet, against all odds, they made a fun, cohesive, and solid narrative that was the wet dreams of many a comic book fan. But that’s not to say it was absolutely perfect.

When Thor lightninged down from the skies at the turning point of the climactic battle between Thanos’ children and the Avengers, it was a great moment. What’s better is that it was set to the Avengers theme — a theme that had been woefully under-utilized in the past. But I couldn’t help but feel like it was a lost opportunity. In Thor: Ragnarok, director Taika Waititi essentially made “The Immigrant Song” Thor’s theme, and in this movie, I couldn’t help but feel like it was a missed opportunity NOT to use at that moment.

I’m not alone. The YouTube channel FilmNerds were so passionate about it, they decided to fulfill my lifelong dream (or rather months-long dream) of making that music cue a reality. So check it out above. It’s not absolutely perfect, as they can only bring down the movie volume so low without losing all the sound effects, but it gets the point across.

What do you think of this cut? Do you also wish they had set it to “The Immigrant Song” or do you think the Avengers theme was the best choice? Let us know your thoughts down below!
