Big Lebowski: Jeff Bridges Teases Return Of The Dude In New Video

Oh, good ol’ ’90s movies. There’s a generation of films that has shaped our current generation of film lovers. From filmmakers like Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, and the Coen Brothers, it’s hard to think of a generation of indie filmmakers that had a bigger impact than them. There were plenty of quotable films from that era, and one such movie was The Big Lebowski, who pretty much every person and their mom can quote ad nauseam.

Though while The Big Lebowski is indeed a film that has made its impact on plenty of us, it’s not exactly one many of us would point to as sequel fodder. Oddly enough, this movie is getting a Jesus Quintana-centric spinoff in the form of Going Places (set to release this year), but as far as we know, we won’t be seeing any other characters in that film.

Right?

I’m not sure anymore. Actor Jeff Bridges, known for the playing The Dude in the film, released this odd teaser on Twitter earlier today.

As you can see, the clip sees an aged dude turn and chuckle to the camera. The date 2.3.19 pops up following a tumbleweed blowing past what looks like a red carpet. So what does this date mean? Could this be a new film? Could it be hinting at his appearance in Going Places? Or is it something else?

Well, that is the date of the Super Bowl this year, and a part of me wonders if this will be similar to the Crocodile Dundee fake movie trailers released last year, which turned out to be an elaborate ad for Australian tourism.
