Birds Of Prey Cinematographer Says A Title Change For The Film Is Likely

The women of DC will soon grace the big screen in their very own film, Birds of Prey. Working on the film is cinematographer Matthew Libatique, who recently worked on two films doing very well at the box-office in Venom and A Star is Born. Libatique recently spoke with GMA News Online and during the interview mentioned that the upcoming DC film is likely to go through a title change.

“It’s probably going to have a different title. It’s with Warner Brothers, and the director is Cathy Yen. Who directed a film called Dead Pigs which is a Chinese film. I’m excited. It’s, in the superheroes genre but this time it’s in the DC universe, not the Marvel universe. Margot Robbie is set to star and I’m excited for that. And then it has a little bit of origin story in it, so it makes it intriguing and it’s very early though, so early discussions.”

Birds of Prey is the name of the comic series the film is to be based on. While I am familiar with the characters, I am not familiar with the comic series. If a title change does come, my guess is that it would be to attract casual moviegoers as the current title doesn’t really scream superhero film, and would only be recognized by those nerds who have read the comic series.

Should the film keep the title Birds of Prey, or go with something different? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
