Black Adam Film Locks Down Jaume Collet-Serra As Director

Well, it’s about time. Finally, we get some movement forward on the Shazam! spinoff, Black Adam. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has found its director in Jaume Collet-Serra (The Commuter, House of Wax, Non-Stop) who coincidentally recently completed filming Jungle Cruise with, none other than Black Adam himself, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Hopefully, Black Adam having his own adventure on the big screen will lead to a Shazam/Black Adam film, and fans will be able to see the comic book rivals go head-to-head.

This moves us all one step closer to finally see Dwayne Johnson portray a top tier superhero on screen. We’ll also get what is more or less the first Dwayne Johnson role where he isn’t the good guy. Yeah, you can count Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns if you want to, personally I choose not to simply for the fact I have to think of that awful, awful CGI. It really is a shame that Johnson has to be associated with that. It was on par with graphics of the first  PlayStation. Some folks around the interwebs also believe his Doom character to be a bad guy.
