Black Widow Movie Will Change How You See Her In Infinity War And Endgame

I admittedly wasn’t a huge fan of Scarlett Johansson in the role of Black Widow, she really hit a whole new level of cool in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where she co-starred alongside Captain America himself, and we got to see a whole new side to her. Ever since then, I felt she would be a prime candidate for a standalone…but years passed, and we didn’t see any movement on that front.

It’s only after her character passed away that we’d be getting a film starring her. So, how did that come about, and why did they decide to do a story set after Captain America: Civil War?

“It was about four years ago as we were working on Infinity War and Endgame at the same time, we knew that we wanted to bring her story to a conclusion in the most heroic way possible in Endgame, but also that we wanted to explore a part of her life that we hadn’t seen before,” Feige said to IGN. “It occurred to us that we had seen her adventures in the Avengers movies, but a lot of stuff happened in between those movies that we never saw, we didn’t hear about, we didn’t learn about. And [with] that, we wanted to do a movie with Scarlett Johansson because she is Natasha Romanoff and not do a story with a younger Black Widow for the whole film.”

Here comes the most interesting part to me.

“But we had this thought of exploring a little bit of her past that we hadn’t seen before and how that impacts the adventure she had between Civil War and Infinity War,” Feige explained. “And in fact, there are things that she does in Infinity War and Endgame that you’ll see in a new light once you see the Black Widow.”

It’s always been a concern to me that this movie would suffer the prequel effect, where all tension and importance is lost because we already know most of what happens.

What do you think of Feige’s comments? Are you still concerned about what’s to come for Black Widow? Let us know down below!
