Black Widow Trailer Rumored For December 3, Florence Pugh Calls Movie ‘Painful’ And ‘Beautiful’

While next year will see a slight dip in the number of Marvel movies, but one movie, in particular, that’s caught my attention, and that’s Black Widow. Because of the simple fact that…you know, Black Widow died in Avengers: Endgame, we really don’t know how the new standalone movie will play out or how it will connect to the universe as a whole in a meaningful way. We don’t really even know much about how it’ll feel tonally.

Well, that could be coming to an end very soon. Scooper Daniel Richtman has shared with his Patreon subscribers that the first trailer for the film will be coming out on December 3 early in the morning. While we have no other details, Richtman has a pretty solid track record, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was right.

But that’s not all we heard about the Black Widow film. Speaking with Variety, spoke highly of the Marvel Studios movie, saying:

“I think we’ve made something very raw and very painful and very beautiful and I think people are going to be really surprised by the outcome of a big action film having that much heart. And I know lots of people will be emotional about her because [Scarlett Johansson’s] character had such a hard ending [in Endgame], but it was special learning from her, and she’s been doing this for like 10 years in those films. For this to be her film was special. And I got to be there and see how she does stunts and lives it, and it’s so her.”

The film is set to take place after Captain America: Civil War, and I’m happy to hear that they won’t be shying away from the heart of a film in favor of something more traditional in the action department — though I’m sure there’ll be some of that too, as Marvel knows what it is fans want to see. Given that Natasha died in Endgame, I’m sure they’ll be playing up the emotional aspect quite a bit.

Pugh also discussed how unique it was working with director Cate Shortland on the movie.

“The fact that I got to do one of those films with a lead actress and the most beautiful and warm director, Cate Shortland, was a very, very unique and special experience. I don’t know what the other films are like and working on them, but I remember being on set many times and thinking, ‘I know this isn’t like this, I know this is unique and I have to take it all in.’”
