Bone-Shattering Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer Debuts

NetherRealm Studios has released a trailer for Mortal Kombat 11. Series creator Ed Boon announced the new entry during the 2018 Game Awards which were held this year in Los Angeles, CA.

The original Mortal Kombat debuted back on October 8, 1992, and became a massive hit as Mortal Kombat fever swept the country. Hell, who doesn’t remember when the theme song was playing over the airwaves? The series did suffer fatigue in the late ’90s and early 2000s, but NetherRealm has been ratcheting up the gaming experience since the crossover Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was released on November 10, 2008.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to be released April 2019, coinciding with springtime. What better reason to resign to the couch, stay in, and battle some contenders in Mortal Kombat while the rain hits your window.

Watching the trailer for Mortal Kombat 11, the first thing that jumped out to me was the massive amount of damage Raiden and Scorpion deal to one another. Not only that, but it looks like the damage doesn’t heal as the match goes on. At least not until Raiden finishes Scorpion and he regenerates back to full health. Also, what’s with the uncharacteristic red lightning emitting from Raiden. Has he defected? Is he more powerful?

The last few moments of the trailer reveal Shao Kahn as a playable character which you can get by pre-ordering the title. I plan to spam the hell out of Shao Kahn’s shoulder charge. Hope to see you online!
