Last night, a strange report emerged that there would be a Breaking Bad movie and that it would be shot in very soon. Additionally, series creator Vince Gilligan was said to be involved on some level — though we aren’t sure if he’ll be hopping on board as director. Though based on what we knew, this would likely not be a film that follows Walter White, but one that follows Jesse Pinkman after he escapes that pit of hell and drives off into the violent sunset.
Now, /Film has released a corroborating report that states that yes, there will indeed be a movie and that it will, in fact, follow Jesse Pinkman and his escape at the end of the show, and that Aaron Paul will be reprising his role as the (former?) meth dealer and cook. In case you forgot, the end of the series, saw Jesse trapped in a pit and forced to cook meth for a band of neo-Nazis, and it was only when Walter came in with his trunk machine gun that escape was possible.

Personally, I always thought Jesse’s ending was pretty damn dark. Given how long he spent in that pit and all the suffering he endured, I knew he would never be the same, mentally, and that he would carry the scars of his incarceration for the rest of his life. That we’ll be seeing his story to completion is actually one of those few situations where I approve. Plus, with how great Gilligan and co-creator Peter Gould have done with Better Call Saul, I have no doubt this movie will be done with great are.
