Brolin Pumped For Dune

Avengers: Endgame actor Josh Brolin himself posted a picture on Instagram. The image specifically references his upcoming role in Dennis Villeneuve’s upcoming Dune remake. Brolin will portray Gurney Halleck in the second feature film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s dystopic science fiction novel Dune. The first adaptation came from Twin Peaks David Lynch.

That photo looks like Brolin is giving us an unobstructed view of his forearms which have some fresh scars. No doubt accumulated during his time on the set of Dune. Which makes sense as his character Gurney Halleck is Warmaster for House Atreides and one of the young Paul Atreides teachers during his time on Caladan.

What do you think of the quote Brolin uses from Herbert’s classic?

“What has mood to do with it? You fight when the necessity arises — no matter the mood! Mood’s a thing for cattle or making love or playing the baliset. It’s not for fighting.” — Frank Herbert, Dune

This movie has all the signs of being a success and maybe a lot of reasons geeks will want to see it. Actually, one reason. The film has Josh Brolin. Whether acting as Thanos or Cable the man has brought the goods. So, getting to see him in something where he might do a bit of neck snapping is exciting. Also, this film should probably get an Oscar for “most impressive cast”. In addition to Brolin, the film has A- listers like Aquaman’s Jason Momoa, Thor’s Stellan Skarsgard, Star Wars: Episode IX’s Oscar Isaacs, Guardians of The Galaxy’s Dave Bautista, and No Country For Old Men’s Javier Bardem.
