Today must be Tom Holland’s happiest day ever. First, we had the amazing news that Spider-Man will be sticking around the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now, we have news revolving around another project that Tom Holland has been attached to for well over two years at this point (since March of 2017): Uncharted.

Recently, director Dan Trachtenberg stepped down as helmer of the flick, leaving it without any real direction (though PlayStation Productions did hop on board the project). But now, that problem has been fully remedied.

According to Variety, Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight will be taking the reins of the long-in-development Sony project, which features a script by Iron Man’s Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Wheel of Time’s Rafe Judkins. Based on the Naughty Dog series of the same name, the Uncharted film is set to feature a younger Nathan Drake.

With Knight on board, I can only imagine there will be further rewrite, as Knight’s staple has tended to be a film with a nice heartfelt core. If he brings that into this movie, I can only imagine it’ll make the film that much better.

The only downside to all this is that this likely means that the next Transformers film will not be from him, so I can only hope they can stay the course and not step back into the mistakes of the several movies that preceded Bumblebee.
