Netflix has pretty much become the only name in town when it comes to story-driven adult animation. Of course, adult animation has been a thing for decades on American TV, but in most cases, you’re talking sitcom-style shows, not serialized adventures. With shows like Seis Manos and Castlevania, the streaming giant is looking to bring a new brand of storytelling to the their service — a brand that’s obviously heavily influenced by anime.

This has led to the popularization of Castlevania, a series that is based on the video game franchise of the same name. We’ve had two seasons thus far, with another season on the way, but Netflix has been tight-lipped on when that would be.

But the Netflix Nordic account recently “leaked” its release date, along with some other shows and movies.

This tweet has since disappeared from the account, so that seems to all but confirm its release.

But what can we expect from this new season? It’s hard to say. Dracula is dead. Alucard is no longer chillin with Trevor and Sypha, so the door seems wide open for a completely different villain…unless they want to keep going back to the Dracula well, which remains to be seen. It’s not as though the games haven’t done that in the past. All the same, there are plenty of other villains they can pull. It’ll all just depend on what they want to do.
