Chadwick Boseman Set To Star And Produce In Action-Thriller From Russo Brothers

While Chadwick Boseman has been making a splash for years playing real-life people in movies like Get on Up and 42, he most recently hit it big on a mainstream level with Black Panther, where he played King T’Challa. Now, Boseman is in the process of lining up his first post-Avengers film.

According to Deadline, the actor is re-teaming with Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo for an action-thriller called 17 Bridges. The Russos will be acting as producers of the film, and Boseman will also be stepping into a producer role, in addition to acting in it.

Set to direct the film is Brian Kirk, who has helmed episodes of Luther and Game of Thrones — so he knows his stuff. Set to write the script is Adam Mervis, who I was able to find absolutely nothing about. The story “follows a disgraced NYPD detective (Boseman) who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption.”

The basic premise itself seems like a hard-boiled, tense ride, and I’m very interested to see Boseman take on a post-Black Panther role. If you can believe it, the only movies he’s set to be in this years are Marvel flicks, and right now, the only one on his slate for 2019 is Avengers.
