Chris Hemsworth Would Be Down For Thor 4

We reported earlier that according to a new rumor a fourth Thor film has been pitched and that Ragnarok director Taika Waititi was said to returning. While none of this has been confirmed the information came from Actress Tessa Thompson who played Valkyrie in Ragnarok, who said she had heard the film had been pitched.

Ragnarok was a breath of fresh air into the Thor franchise, revitalizing the character, and I think most fans including myself would be up for another similar style film. The question is would Chris Hemsworth want to return for another adventure? Well, he recently spoke with MSN, and discussed that very issue, you can check out what he had to say below.

“I’d play this character for as long as anyone would let me. I’ve loved it so much. But the combination of this many characters in this Phase Three, as Marvel calls it, you’ll never have this interaction with this many people again. Who knows what the future holds and whether they do prequels and sequels or whatever, I’d be open to anything. But right now, this is where we finish up.”

Well, I would say Hemsworth willingness to return would be one of the first obstacles in getting this project off the ground, and by what he said above, he’s in. Hemsworth also commented on how he would feel about Taika Waititi returning to direct.

“When we came into Ragnarok, I was sort of exhausted of what I’d been doing and a little sort of underwhelmed by what I was putting out there, you know? That was no fault of any director or writer, that was me personally. It felt like I’d put myself in a box with what the character could do. So on Ragnarok, it was about breaking all the rules, and kinda going ‘as soon as it feels familiar, do something different’, and Taika [Waititi], the director, had the same vision, and the same, I guess, guts to just roll the dice and [do the] ‘anything goes’ kind of thing. That was so liberating and freeing, you know, to sort of break away who the character was prior.”

The film was very different from the two that came before it, and that is what made Ragnarok so much fun. Fans got a taste of the Thor that always should have been, and now they want more. Hemsworth is in, if Marvel can get Waititi on board, and a good story, let’s get this thing in motion.
