Coco: Check Out This New Featurette & Clip For Pixar’s New Film!

Disney and Pixar have released not one, but two new videos for their upcoming film, Coco. The first comes in the form of a featurette. In it, we get a behind-the-scenes look at all the research Pixar employees went through in order to capture all the intricacies of Mexican culture.

Additionally, they discuss the use of music in the film, how it applies to the story, and how much it’s utilized to help drive the overall theme and plot forward. It’s a short, informative little video that touches on a lot of great things that we had a chance to see in our visit to Pixar last August.

The second video is a clip from the film itself. In it, we see a whole lot of information. We get an idea of Miguel’s desire to play music, along with how much his family hates the idea of music. It helps set the stage for the film as a whole, and also shows a great deal of physical comedy that’s helped make Pixar the studio it is today.

Below is the official synopsis for Coco:

“Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.”

Coco hits theaters on November 22, 2017.
