Could American Gladiator Be Making A Comeback?

There are a bunch of classic television shows out there right now that have been brought back to life by studios or are in the works to find a network. The list includes shows like Will & Grace, Murphy Brown, Roseanne, Alf, $100,000 Pyramid, Animaniacs and many more. TheWrap is reporting that there is another American classic show that is also looking to be revived, American Gladiator.

According to sources close to them, the show is being shopped around to networks by MGM Television with Seth Rogan and his producing partner Evan Goldberg. They would be both expected to serve as executive producers on the show. The producer from the original series, John Ferraro is also attached to the project.

The original American Gladiator was a big hit running from 1989 to 1996 in syndication. the show did so well at consistently racking up ratings for its time slot that other shows attempted to cash in on it’s momentum. The show puts everyday people up against famous athletes through obstacle courses. In 2008 the series was briefly brought back with Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali as the hosts.

Currently Rogan and Goldberg produce television shows like The Boys, Black Monday, Preacher and Future Man.
