Could Cloak And Dagger Crossover With Other Marvel Properties?

Even though Cloak and Dagger is only on it’s third episode on Freeform, many viewers have already thought about the possibility of the two characters crossing over to other studio properties since the series exists within the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. If there is anyone to ask about these possibilities it is none other than the head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb.

ComicBook.com had the opportunity to talk with Loeb about the chances of Cloak and Dagger teaming up with other Marvel characters.

“Look, it’s something that we talk about. A large time, it has to do with scheduling in a way that you’re asking a different question that gets me into trouble to say ‘#itsallconnected.’ But it is all connected, in the very basic sense that this is the world that we’re living in.”

He goes on to talk about the reason why Marvel has chosen to keep their characters in real cities instead of a fictional one like DC does with cities like Metropolis and Gotham. Saying that it allows them to insert Easter eggs throughout the show that shows how everything is connected and thus making crossovers possible.

“One of the things that Marvel is very proud about is we don’t have made-up cities, we don’t have a fictional kind of world, or police force, or anything else like that,” he continued. “We try to stay within the lanes of what feels like a real show, and that we carry that form show to show, and that there’ll be Easter eggs, and there’ll be little things along the way.

He gives the mention of Roxxon in the pilot episode as an example.

“I think if you watch the pilot or even seen the trailer, Roxxon plays a very big part in that. Roxxon is a very big entity in any Marvel property that you’re using, and Roxxon only exists in the MCU, so, you have to, thereby, go, it is all connected simply because that’s one of the very significant points that happens during the show.”

Cloak and Dagger is Freeforms best series launch in two years as well as it’s most watched drama telecast since the finale of Pretty Little Liars about a year ago. Hopefully it will continue to do well and then just maybe we can get some kind of crossover.
