Creed 2: New Poster And Featurette Have Two Generations Facing Off For An Epic Battle

The Rocky films have had varying quality over the years, from the first Oscar-winning movie to the 80’s cold war inspired cheese-fest that was Rocky 4. Things took one helluva nose dive with Rocky 5 before bouncing back in Rocky Balboa and continuing that trend with Creed.

It, therefore, seems a little risky for Creed 2 to act as both a sequel to Creed and also a resolution of sorts of the conflict from Rocky 4 between Rocky himself and the inimitable Ivan Drago. You can check out the new featurette that highlights the duo above!

Here’s the thing, I love Rocky 4, it’s a guilty pleasure of mine and even though I know it’s not a great movie, it gets nostalgia points from me. As a pre-teen kid, I thought it was the greatest Rocky movie ever made. The movie dispensed with all that boring drama between Rocky and Adrian and went straight for the jugular as Apollo Creed is killed by the cold heartless wall of death that is Drago. Cue the 80’s musical montages as Rocky goes training with a beard in the snow and trains old style to toughen up and beat the Russian behemoth.

To this day (not that I go as much as I should), whenever I go to a gym or go running, my favorite soundtrack is the Rocky 4 music, especially the training montage, its guaranteed to get an extra 5% out of anyone. Anyway, enough about my strange habits, today we have a cool new poster for Creed 2. Check it out below.

I do like this poster, it does the simple job of telling you everything you need to know about this movie without even seeing a trailer. Rocky is healthy again, clearly, still training Adonis Creed and now Ivan Drago and his son have come back to challenge the young fighter. Of course, there is the extra added spice of the fact that Adonis father Apollo was killed by Drago in Rocky 4.

Rocky 4 might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for me, I can’t wait to see Creed 2 because of it, the music just won’t be as good as Rocky 4 was though.

I’m going to go listen to “Hearts on Fire” whilst skipping, in the meantime let us know what you think of the new poster in the comments below.
