Summer is officially here and you know what that means? Another season of anime to look forward to. Crunchyroll announced their first slate of anime coming to their platform this summer.
The list is stacked as always, full of returning favorites and new ones to look out for. With that being said, let’s jump right into the list.
Simulcasts
New simulcast series streaming on Crunchyroll for the upcoming anime season include:
Fena: Pirate Princess – You may have seen coverage on LRM of this brand new Crunchyroll and Adult Swim original anime. The series follows orphan, Fena, as she escapes to the high seas and takes her place as captain of a pirate crew for a swashbuckling adventure! Fena: Pirate Princess is premiering later this summer.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S – Tohru, Kobayashi and all the dragon friends are back in all-new episodes of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S! If you like cute dragons, I hear this is the show for you.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 – This fan favorite is continuing on with its hyped up Season 2. Rimuru and Tempest are set up to clash against the forces of the Demon Lord Clayman. I have not caught up with this season yet, but this is a great one to check out if you have not already. This series is a great blend of comedy and fantasy, and of course loveable characters.
I’m Standing on a Million Lives Season 2 – Yusuke Yotsuya and the other humans begin their fight against the Orc Army in the second season of this increasingly popular anime. Another one on my list to catch up on. There have been so many amazing anime to watch this year it is hard to keep up.
New Anime
Crunchyroll’s latest slate for the upcoming new anime this season includes:
SD Gundam World Heroes – A new SD Gundam series begins with battles set across the world stage!
The aquatope on white sand – One former idol goes to Okinawa and finds a new life helping a struggling aquarium from shutting down.
The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace – As demons wake from their great slumber, descendants of battle-gods called Idaten and humanity fight back!
Girlfriend, Girlfriend – From the creator of AHO-GIRL comes a story of a triangular relationship as one high schooler dates two girlfriends at the same time!
Peach Boy Riverside – One princess aims to travel the world when one day she encounters a famous ogre-slaying warrior!
Returning Favorites
To Your Eternity – Fushi’s journey to understand humanity and the world continues in new episodes of To Your Eternity.
Tokyo Revengers – One young man time-leaps back to his middle school days where he vows to protect his friends against dangerous delinquents. I am a bit behind on this one, but I can already tell that Tokyo Revengers is another big one to dive into. Stay tuned as I’m sure you’ll hear more about this one from me.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations – Boruto continues his adventures to become the ultimate ninja with Team 7 and all your favorite ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village.
Case Closed – Ace teen detective Shinichi Kudo solves cases after becoming trapped in the body of a ten year old. I used to watch this one on Adult Swim back in the day and I am pumped for the series to have picked back up. I only wish they would get the dub voice actors to come back. Maybe when they finally decide to finish the show, they can bring the English cast back for the final season.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai – Based on the classic Dragon Quest series, follow Dai and his party in their grand adventure to defeat the demon lord Hadlar.
Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House – Two girls chase after their dreams in the ancient capital in this healing slice-of-life anime about an aspiring maiko and the house chef. That sounds like a very laid-back show.
My Hero Academia (Season 5) – Deku and Class 1-A continue their hero training and unleash new powers in Season 5 of My Hero Academia. I cannot say enough about this anime. It is easily the best anime out there right now in my opinion. Season 5 has already started off with a bang with Class A versus Class B! For fans of the dub, hang in there, it sounds like Season 5 will be coming soon!
Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure – A brand new PreCure series is on Crunchyroll, and now it’s time to get tropical.
One Piece – Luffy and the Straw Hats continue their adventures in Wano and fight against the powerful Emperors! Be honest, who is caught up on this one? Let me know in the comments because that would be quite the accomplishment.
Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun! Season 2 – Demon school is back in session as Iruma and his devilish classmates continue their lessons in the dark arts! I am hearing a lot of good things about this one as well. Again, I cannot keep up!
