Cult Animated Series Bee and PuppyCat Returns to Netflix

Bee and PuppyCat

Bee and PuppyCat delighted fans a few years ago by premiering as a two-part, 10-minute short. Then with a record-breaking successful Kickstarter campaign, it brought these two adorable likable characters for a first full season that was watched online by millions.

With its quick success, the series created by Natasha Allegri (Adventure Time) and production company Frederator Studios (Castlevania, Adventure Time) announced a new season with new adventures on the streaming platform Netflix on September 6.

Here is a brief description of the series:

Bee and PuppyCat follows a twenty-something temp worker named Bee and her mysterious companion PuppyCat as the two travel on fantastic adventures across space while taking on various intergalactic odd jobs to help make rent.

For the new season, the series re-introduces the beloved characters and re-imagines the original storyline before it launches into a brand new story arc.

“When I think about making stuff, I think about who I’m making it for,” said series creator Natasha Allegri in a statement. “The person I made Bee and PuppyCat for is someone who is chaotic, who likes entertainment, and cute stuff, maybe a little bit socially unaware, who wants something comforting.

The series’ new season, also known as “Lazy in Space,” will feature 16 new half-hour episodes.

Although the original web series is still available online, it’ll be refreshing to introduce this series towards western anime-style storytelling with Netflix.  And people will still be debating on whether it’s a cat or a dog.

Don’t forget to put it on your watch list on Netflix for September 6.
