Daniel Radcliffe On Taking Roles Wildly Different From Harry Potter

It’s been almost seven years since the final Harry Potter movie, the actor who played everyone’s favorite boy wizard, Daniel Radcliffe, has since moved on in his career, branching out to roles that aim to separate him fro his most famous role.

“Directly after Potter, it was a real concern of mine [to show my versatility as an actor], but now, I think it’s just a part of how I pick roles. I don’t want to repeat myself, because that’s not fun for me, but not because it’s a part of any huge grand plan to continue to distance myself from Potter.”

Since leaving the magical world of Harry Potter, Radcliffe has done a great deal to distance himself from the from the role, starring alongside Paul Dano in the eccentric film, Swiss Army Man, and even taking a turn as a neo-Nazi in the film, Imperium.

While he has done quite well for himself post Potter, to many he will always be the boy who lived, and the one who defeated he who must not be named. There are far worse than things than being remembered for starring in one of the most beloved franchises of all time (The Harry Potter films maintained quality better than of any other franchise with multiple entries).
