Dave Bautista Thrilled To Join James Gunn’s Suicide Squad 2

Just a couple hours ago, news dropped that James Gunn would be hopping over from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the DC Extended Universe. more specifically, he’d be taking over for Suicide Squad 2. If you’re like me, and you’ve been following all the news surrounding James Gunn’s removal from the MCU, you likely had one question…what role would Dave Bautista play?

And it didn’t take long for Bautista to react to the news on Twitter — his usual method of expressing his thoughts. He linked to the news piece and gave a predictably enthusiastic response:

“Where do I sign up!”

On the heels of Gunn getting canned by Marvel, Bautista was a strong supporter of him, displaying a real loyalty you don’t see all too often. Some might say it was loyalty to a fault, with Bautista considering asking Marvel to potentially relieve him of his contract if they don’t use Gunn’s script for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

We still currently don’t know the status of that franchise within the MCU, and even if they do come back, I can’t help but wonder if Drax the Destroyer will get the ax. But, if nothing else, he has a nice guaranteed gig over at DC for the foreseeable future. Hopefully.
