David Ayer Meets With Animation And Comics Legend Paul Dini — Is It For Gotham City Sirens?

For many DC fans, Paul Dini is kind of a living legend. He cemented his role in our childhoods with Batman: The Animated Series and continued doing amazing work on Superman: The Animated Series. Though while he’s made his mark on animation, he also has done work in the comic space with series like Gotham City Sirens.

In a recent bit of development, a photo between him and Suicide Squad director David Ayer popped up on Ayer’s Twitter account. Check it out below:

So why is this a big deal? Well, as was revealed quite some time ago, Ayer was attached to direct a Gotham City Sirens film, which could see the likes of Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy team up in some capacity. The movie has seemingly been swept under the rug in favor of Birds of Prey and maybe even Batgirl, but could this photo indicate that the project is far from dead?

Of course, Ayer is quite the busy man, as he’s currently shooting a film with Shia Labeouf and is also attached to a sequel to his Netflix original movie Bright. Add in the seemingly backhanded comments he made to (what many assume is) DC, and it does seem like it’s a long road to this becoming a reality.

Either way, this photo is enough to get us speculating so whether or not active development is indeed happening…but what do you think? Do you think a Gotham City Sirens film will ever happen? Sound off down below!
