David Cross Doesn’t Think Arrested Development Will Continue After Season 5

Arrested Development, one of, if not the most brilliant sitcom to ever grace the television screen might be coming to an end after the second half of the show’s fifth season airs. Comedian David Cross, who has played the very eccentric and naive Tobias Fünke on the show recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers Podcast and didn’t express much confidence in the show continuing.

“I’ve learned to say ‘never say never,’ but I can’t see it happening again, I think for a number of reasons.”

While this is a huge bummer for fans of the show, Cross did ssay somethign that will make fans happy, mentioning that the second half of Season 5 will, “at the beginning of the new year.”

The show originally ran for three seasons on Fox from 2003-2006, and, to the surprise of the show’s fan base, was cancelled. Years later the series was revived by Netflix, but many fans felt while it was still funny, it simply wasn’t on par with the excellent writing of the first three seasons. This show will forever be changing spots in my list of top sitcoms, along with Seinfeld and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
