Lots of good stuff coming out of South America this weekend via Argentina Comic Con as well as CCXP in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During a panel at CCXP a new teaser was revealed for the upcoming DC Universe original series, Stargirl. This series seems to have been in production for a very long time as it was first expected to debut in the early fall this year. The last we had heard about this series was that it would debut on the DC Universe streaming service and then be shown on The CW. After it will also be available on The CW digital platforms. You can check out the teaser trailer above!

It’s interesting that the trailer starts with name dropping Geoff Johns who wrote the pilot episode and serves as an executive producers on the series. Which makes sense as he is also the creator of Courtney Whitmore aka Stargirl at DC Comics. The rest of the trailer is very brief as it just shows some of the young characters that will be featured and at the end a quick look at Stargirl with her staff. With production having already taking this long I would have expected a little more from a teaser trailer.

Here is the synopsis for Stargirl series via Warner Bros. Television:
STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. The project focuses on the character that started executive producer Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister, who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.

Stargirl‘s cast is lead by Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore, Yvette Monreal, Christopher James Baker, Jake Austin Walker, Meg DeLacy, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Luke Wilson, Hunter Sansone, Neil Jackson and Trae Romano. Along with Johns as executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Melissa Carter. It is being produced by Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
