DC Universe Streaming Service Doubling It’s Comic Book Content

The DC Universe streaming service was officially launched in September of last year on Batman Day. This was going to be the place to go for DC fans. It has a place for classic television series, movies, original exclusive series and comic books. Since then we have seen the addition of several films and series that are dear to many fans as well as their first original live action series, Titans and the long anticipated third season of Young Justice: Outsiders. Now we await the arrival of the next live action series Doom Patrol which will make it’s debut next month. But to really make this streaming service worth the price, DC has announced a major expansion.

This expansion comes to their comic book library. Currently, the streaming service offers subscribers access to thousands of comic book series, which are usually complete series runs or story arcs. But by the end of March DC Universe is looking to double it’s selection on comic books including stories from the 80’s all the way to some current story arcs.

Speaking about the streaming service’s comic book library expansion Sam Ades, senior vice president and general manager of DC Digital Services said that:
“When launching DC UNIVERSE we knew the comic reader was an area that we wanted to expand and provide more choice. Fans want a place to discover new titles and the opportunity to enjoy full arcs of iconic and notable storylines from start to finish. We are listening to fans and responding with an expanded comic book offering that improves the overall DC UNIVERSE experience.”

Here are some of the titles that are now available on the streaming service as of today:

Action Comics (2016)
Batman (2011)
Batman Incorporated
Batman: The War of Jokes & Riddles
Flashpoint
Gotham Central
Harley Quinn (2000, 2013)
Justice League: Darkseid War
The Omega Men
Static Shock
Swamp Thing (Alan Moore’s Arc)
Superman: For All Seasons
Wonder Woman

Also here are some of the new releases that will be rolling out weekly:
52
Animal Man (Grant Morrison’s Arc)
Aquaman (2016)
Batgirl (2009)
Batman: Hush
Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?
Batman: Year One
Forever Evil

JSA (1999)
Midnighter & Apollo
Planetary

There are many titles on those lists that even I have still not had the opportunity to read, but with them available on my devices now I will look forward to catching up on some of the classic stories while I wait for the next original series to drop.
