DC Universe’s Doom Patrol Has Cast Diane Guerrero As Crazy Jane

Looks like DC Universe’s Doom Patrol series has cast another one of his members. According to TVLine, Orange Is The New Black‘s Diane Guerrero has been cast for the series as Crazy Jane.

Crazy Jane is a very unlikely hero as her character suffers from a severe case of multiple personality disorder. Specifically she has 64 distinct personas, which could be a really good thing or a really bad thing for the Doom Patrol as each one of her personalities has a different superpower. She first appeared in comics in DC Comics’ Doom Patrol Vol. 2 #19 in February of 1989. She was created by Grant Morrison and Richard Case.

Doom Patrol will be a spinoff of Titans and has been described as “a reimagining of one of DC’s strangest group of outcasts.” Also cast for the series is April Bowlby as Elasti-Girl and Dwain Murphy as Negative Man, Robotman is yet to be cast. The group is led by Dr. Niles Caulder who are reluctantly called into action by Cyborg.

The official tagline reads:
“Banding together, these rejects find themselves on a mission that will take them to the weirdest and most unexpected corners of the DC universe.”

Although Guerrero is best known for her character Maritza Ramos on Orange Is The New Black, she was also a series regular on CBS’s Superior Donuts as well as having a recurring part on The CW’s Jane The Virgin.
