DC Universe’s Metropolis Heading Back To Redevelopment

This week we finally got some news about DC Entertainment’s streaming service this week which has the very creative name DC Universe that will launch later this year. It will kick off as we know with the live action Titans series as well as the animated Young Justice: Outsiders. In some other great news we also learned that James Wan will be working on a Swamp Thing series and that there is a Harley Quinn animated series.

One other show that had been talked about was a live action series called Metropolis. Which had gotten a 13 episode straight to series order that would follow Lois Lane and Lex Luthor in the City of Tomorrow before the arrival of Superman. It was set for an early 2019 debut but according to Deadline, the series is being placed in redevelopment.

I find it interesting that Warner Bros. has focused so much attention on developing pre-hero shows like Gotham, Krypton and now the delayed Metropolis when they have such a rich catalog of heroes and villains that they can focus on.

This series had been targeted to start shooting in the summer, it is unknown if this step back will delay that and the original target debut of early next year. What are your thoughts on this show? Should they continue to pursuit it, or move on to a different set of characters? Let us know in the comment section below!
