Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix Both Wrap Production

Yesterday, two X-Men projects from 20th Century Fox, Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix wrapped production. Both Simon Kinberg, the director of Dark Phoenix, and Ryan Reynolds, star of Deadpool 2, took to Instagram to celebrate.

First, Kinberg’s image of him watching a monitor with a very familiar symbol lit in blue in the background. He even included the release date of November 2, 2018.

Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds posted a picture of himself with director David Leitch, thanking everyone from the people of Vancouver, his hometown where the film was also shot, to the production assistants and props department, promising the latter had really upped their Easter Egg game.

Of course, Reynolds couldn’t help but get a little dirty at the end there. He is Deadpool, in real life, after all.

Next year is going to be a busy one for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise, starting with The New Mutants — which just got a trailer on Friday — set for release on April 13, 2018. Then, Deadpool 2 follows on June 1st, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set for November 2.

Three movies a year! That’s the same delivery rate as Marvel Studios! If only Fox was as consistent with their Marvel movies as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is.
