Deadpool 2: Colossus Will Never Stop Trying To Make Deadpool An X-Men (Exclusive)

EXCLUSIVE: One of the big surprises of the first Deadpool movie was that of Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. While we knew going into it that they would both be in the film, it wasn’t clear just how much. It didn’t take long for audiences to fall in love between the dynamic between these three.

Deadpool was basically the older brother to Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Colossus was pretty much the opposite of the selfish, foulmouthed Deadpool. However, despite Deadpool’s crass personality and…gray morality, Colossus still tried his best to get the Merc with the Mouth to join the X-Men.

I recently had an exclusive chat with Colossus actor Stefan Kapičić, and when asked if Colossus would ever give up on trying to convert Deadpool, he responded:

“No. Never. That’s the beauty of their relationship, because Deadpool is such a perfect character. having Colossus on the other side makes his character much better in one way, because it’s a perfect contrast. It’s so great that we had him in the first part, and now we have him in the sequel, on the same mission, and trying to make a better world with better people. And you know, Colossus loves Deadpool. That’s one of the most beautiful things, and he believes in him, and that’s one of the things he will never stop doing.”

I have to say, even though the dynamic is one that could have gotten old if approached the wrong way, it is great to hear that Colossus really does care for Deadpool, and is hopeful that someday he’ll wear him down enough to turn fully good. The fact that his motivations run so deep is enough to give it an extra weight and foundation that could have otherwise been lost.
