Deadpool 2 Pulls In Over $300 Million At The Worldwide Box Office

The Merc with the Mouth and his new crew pulled in over $300 million worldwide this weekend, with $125 million of that coming from domestic audiences. While Deadpool 2 beat out the original film worldwide (the first Deadpool pulled in $264 million worldwide), it came up just short of first film’s domestic take which took in around $132 million. The film also knocked the box office monster Avengers: Infinity War off the top spot on the charts.

Deadpool 2 broke the Thursday night record for R-rated films, a record that the original Deadpool film also held, until being bested by last year’s IT. The film also became the highest grossing worldwide film for Fox International.

After the success of 2016’s Deadpool, a sequel was inevitable. The first film pulled in over $780 million on a mere $60 million-dollar budget. And even though the budget for the sequel nearly doubled, the film is shaping up to be just as, or possibly even more successful.

I watched the film on Saturday and really enjoyed it. The cameo, Easter eggs, and especially the mid-credit scenes were brilliantly done. The film went by incredibly fast and by the time the end came around, I felt like only an hour’s time had passed.
