Deadpool 2 Star On Negative Screening Rumors & Reshoots

Recently, there has been some back and forth on the test screenings of Deadpool 2. We first had reports of just awful reactions from those that were lucky enough to catch an advanced showing, not long after those reactions were contradicted by another report.

The recent reshoots have added to the confusion. Were these going to be extensive reshoots, or your standard blockbuster fare? Brianna Hilderbrand, who plays Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the film, recently spoke with ScreenGeek at MCM Comic Con and cleared up the reason for the reshoots.

“No, it was nothing that had gone wrong. I think it’s a common misconception too – that people think that reshoots are to fix things that people didn’t like. A lot of the time, reshoots are to add more of the things that people loved. [Filmmakers] watch their films again and are like “better fix that”. I don’t know how much I can say about that. Usually films hate it when you talk about their reshoots – solely because people think that it’s because the film was bad for the test audience – but it was all good.”

Personally, I am not too worried about the film. This character has been Ryan Reynolds’ baby for some time now, and I don’t think he would let anything bad happen to it. Reshoots are so common with films nowadays they don’t really bring up the red flags like they used to. You can read in the related section that the reshoots are thought to deal with adding more Domino and Cable into the film, and Hilderbrand’s comments more or less cconfirmthese thoughts.
