If you’re up for seeing Bruce Willis kick some ass, then Death Wish may very well be up your alley. The film follows a man whose wife is killed during a home invasion. The incident also leaves his daughter in the hospital, and it’s at that moment that the character decides to take the law into his own hands, Punisher-style.
What follows is a violent gore-fest fitting of director Eli Roth’s tastes. The grindhouse-style trailer was our first actual look at the ridiculous violence in the film, and while that could sell some folks, IGN has just released another clip that may be a bit more effective.

As you can see, the clip shows Bruce Willis’ character ushering his daughter under the stairs. There’s a home invader on the prowl, and he wants to make sure she isn’t hurt. The film does a pretty good job of making me buy what’s going on — the terror of the situation, and his daughter’s scared reaction.
While I don’t know what happens next, it doesn’t seem like either of them are pulling any dumb moves, which is refreshing. We’ll have to wait and see just how Roth pulps it up, but if the movie’s tension is as good as this scene reflects, it could be a more fun time at the movies than I expected.
