Deleted Batman v. Superman Scene Showed Batman Taking A Human Shield

While a number of fanshad a problem with Batfleck from the beginning, the version of the character is probably the most brutal version we have seen on screen. As it turns out, there was scene that was cut from all releases of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. In an interview with Screenrant, Damon Caro, second unit director and stunt coordinator on Dawn of Justice talks about a scene in which Batman uses one of the bad guys as a human shield.

“In the chase scene he was dealing with dangerous dudes that were trying to kill him, but I feel he was driven more by hatred then. By the Martha rescue, he’s no longer fueled by resentment… So there’s definitely an evolution at this point. You will see, something that would sort of contradict that, if you noticed in that the action-viz that we shot in prep, it’s a little bit longer than what we shot for the film. and he does use one of the guys as a shield in that, but it didn’t make the movie because it didn’t fit for the cut. So that would have violated… but he uses him as a shield and the guy had a bulletproof vest on.”

The old argument comes up again. If Batman would just break his rule and kill the Joker he could save a good number of lives. This has always been one of the Dark Knight’s things, he doesn’t kill (at least on screen) I don’t think many fans would have minded this scene, it sounds more like an emergency self defense, and better some random Gotham City red shirt, than Batman, right?
