Dick Grayson And Jason Todd Face To Face In Titans Images

Since his first appearance in DC’s Detective Comics #38 the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin became of the most iconic partnerships in pop culture history. Since then we have also seen a line of different Robins starting off with the always popular Dick Grayson who goes on to become Nightwing. Just as we recognize the team heroes and villains in the DC Universe have done the same. So what happens when Robin decides he wants to fly solo?

DC Universe’s Titans will be exploring that idea in their live action show that will premiere in October. As we saw in the San Diego Comic-Con trailer a few months back, Dick Grayson played by Brenton Thwaites, has some anger issues that he is working out and he does not appreciate people asking for the Dark Knight every time he comes around.

What definitely won’t help his mood will be coming face to face with his replacement, Jason Todd played by Curran Walters IGN has received some exclusive images that you can check out in the link here of both Robins in costume.

It is interesting to note that this will be Jason Todd’s first live appearance in any DC property although he has been featured often in animation. The photos are a bit dark but as you can see the costumes are very similar, which is also probably not going to sit well with Grayson. IGN also had the opportunity to talk with Titans’ showrunner Greg Walker about the tension between the two.

“It’s kind of like one of those classic covers of the books, original versus number 2, and in many ways, you really see that [in the photos]. This encapsulates the tension, the energy between these two guys. It’s like running into your ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, minus the sexual tension,” Walker laughed. “You get to watch Dick Grayson struggle when he sees another Robin and how that Robin is different and has a different relationship with ‘dad.’ And the second child gets away with stuff the first child would never get away with in a family, and ours is really a family show.”

It will be great to finally see a Robin in live action since the early films. Now add the tension between the two and it should make for some very interesting scenes. We have less than a month to wait for the premiere, so not too long to wait and see.
