Today Reeves via his Twitter account has confirmed along with an interesting GIF that Serkis will be playing Pennyworth in his upcoming film. In the caption he wrote “And here comes #Alfred”. You can check out the post below!

Serkis of course has worked with Reeves before on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War of the Planet of the Apes, where he played the role of Caesar. Now he will play the butler of Robert Pattison’s Bruce Wayne. Along with Serkis we have already have confirmation that Jeffrey Wright will be the GCPD commissioner Jim Gordon, Zoe Kravitz will take on the cat burglar Catwoman, Paul Dano will play the Riddler and recently Jayme Lawson also joined the film. There are still rumors that Colin Farrell is also being eyed to play the Penguin.

Although currently the details of the film are being kept under wraps, it’s said that this film will be focusing on Batman’s detective skills a lot more than other films have in the past. The film of course will feature the three rogues already mentioned Catwoman, the Riddler and the Penguin, although it’s also rumored that they are looking for a Two Face. This film is expected to be the first of three films that will feature Pattinson as the Dark Knight.
